Internship Information
There are two internship goals for the Culinary Academy students ~ the Career Academy internship of 135 hours in a community culinary establishment and 400 hours in community culinary establishments and school environment. The 135 hours for the Career Academy Internship is part of the 400 total hours for the Prostart requirement. Students can start counting their hours of service toward the ProStart goal once they have entered their ProStart I class during their junior year. The Culinary Academy Coordinator will help find students internships in the culinary community. Internships can be paid or unpaid. Students can enroll in Career Academy Internship classes and utilize class time to complete this requirement. Students are required to keep a journal, record hours worked, and create and present a project representing their internship.
